Birds
Need Our Help!
This
year has been tough on the birds. Due to the drought the birds were
forced to eat this winter’s berry crop to get moisture. The heat also
stunted the weed seed crop. After a long hot summer we skipped fall
and went right into winter. Because of this roller coaster weather,
the birds really need our help.
Birds require a constant supply of high energy food in order to
survive the cold. Suet, sunflower seeds and peanuts provide the fat
birds need to keep them warm. Serving fruit such as apples, plumped
raisins and oranges will delight the berry eaters.
A heater in your bird bath will provide them with life saving water.
Bird houses give them warm places to roost at night.
While we are warm and well fed this winter, let’s be sure that our
feathered friends are too!
